Jackson's Cake Smash

So if you are new to the blog and don't know much about me...well I was a photographer before a Mommy (still am of course). I have had my business since 2011 but if you ask my family & friends, I always had a camera in my hand. In high school, I had this amazing graphic design teacher who completely inspired me and led me to make the choices I did. So since the birth of my biz, I have shot many first birthday sessions and cake smashes. Won't lie, maybe when my son was about 2 or 3 months old, I started getting excited that I would be doing his cake smash. Finally my own child's cake smash! I wasn't trying to rush time, believe me...I was trying to will my eyes to never blink as he grew grew grew, but yea I was pretty excited. Around 7 months old I started forming all the ideas in my head. I wanted to keep it simple, go with the theme of his bedroom. By the way, I'll be doing a sweet shoot and post all about his room design soon. But the jist is, he's my baby bear and his father is a wilderness man, a fisherman, a Godly manly man. So his room is very wilderness, bears, fishing, woodwork all up in there with pieces here and there showing our love for the lord. I took my ideas and ran with it. Below are some of my very favorites from his session. Okay there are a lot, I know. But I'm a photographer and a first time Mommy and he's REALLLYYYY cute! I still can't believe this beautiful blue eyed boy is MINE. He's precious, perfectly hand crafted by the Lord to love and be loved by me & his daddy. I figured from sharing his dramatic and intense birth story, I should share a happy sweet post. God saw me thru that horrible experience, he saw us both through it. Life couldn't be sweeter now.
